MARRIED Claire
Clayton was speechless after she got a mobile text message saying: "I
wnt u, I need u, I cnt get enuff of u."
The sexy text
sent to the 25-year old Benefits Agency worker was not from husband Dave
but from the Hazel Grove branch of Sainsbury's offering her a job.
The company sent
hundreds of saucy messages in a recruitment drive.
But Mrs Clayton
was left angry and worried because she has no idea how the company got her
number.
Sainsbury's withdrew
the message after Job Centre staff made a complaint when job seekers, who
also received the text, expressed concern.
Mrs Clayton, who
works in Longsight, said: "We would have had a problem if Dave had
just read the first bit. I don't think they should do that but I am more
anxious about where they got my number from.''
The message told
people to ring Stockport Job Centre but the manager there, Linda McGee said
the company should have checked before sending out her number.
She said: "Sainsbury's
placed this advert with the best intentions to raise awareness of the store
- they have apologised to me and the text was withdrawn.
"My team
fielded complaints but many people who found it asked for applications.
I was not aware that a text message was being sent and if I had seen the
content it would not have gone out in that form."
The advert was
approved by Sainsbury's human resources in Stockport but not initiated by
the company nationally.
The phone numbers
were brought from a firm, which asks people on forms and special offers
if they would mind receiving information about other companies.
More than 50 people
responded to the message in just one day and asked for applications in what
Sainsbury's said was a "very successful'' campaign.
