Brendan is a fully qualified reporterwith a National Certificate of Education in Journalism. He has 100wpm shorthand. Brendan has received training at the Sunday Times in investigation skills including how to analyse company accounts. He has also attended a three-day training scheme covering the Freedom of Information and Data Protection Acts provided by the Campaign for Freedom
of Information.
Brendan holds a Master of Arts in Modern Studies from the University of Kent. The course covered postmodernism and deconstruction, from Jacques Derrida and Claude Lévi-Strauss to Carl Jung. He retains his interest in academic debate and research, in particular the work of the Lacanian philosopher Slavoj Žižek.
Brendan has A grades at A-Level in English, history and art along with A grade GCSEs in English, history, maths, design etc, but that all seems a terribly long time ago. If he ever gets time, Brendan would like to take an accountancy course or study economics.
